People who live on the street often find it very difficult to access hygiene basics.
We run info-meetings, fundraisers and skill sessions in order to obtain resources to assembre, package and distribute personal hygiene kits to people experiencing homelessness. Kits will be adjusted according to season and circumstances.
Our volunteers run bingo nights, quizes, and other events in order to raise funds and inform about the project.
If you have a particular skill, you can volunteer to donate an hour or two of your time so we can create workshops or classes for the public. All the proceeds collected at the event will go to the purchase and distribution of the health kits.
Once we've purchased all the items, we put the kits together. Then using a partner organisation Amigos de la Calle we get the packets out to people experiencing homelessness in Valencia, Spain.
While doing my research on human rights I became aware of the situation of extreme vulnerability experienced by people living on the streets. Homelessness is a neglected problem and most governments do not address the issue efficiently. Those who find themselves in this situation for whatever reason face problems in accessing
and enjoying the same rights as others.
